I cannot stop saying "tomb baboon."

Tomb Baboon

I don't know if you have ever seen the Egyptian mummified baboons, but I can't get over wanting a tomb baboon. The sculptural versions are just cool as hell. The baboon (or sometimes an ibis) is a representation of Thoth, the god of writing, accounting and all things intellectual. I want to attempt to make one, perhaps with an over abundance of air clay I bought for who knows what project. Pouring out a little for Thoth as I write this post.

This design for Acne Studios is a great example of a simple idea that looks really interesting and transforms depending on your relative position to the doorways.

On Your Mark

I started an Are.na board of some travel ephemera I came across, and you can sift through and connect or download whatever you like to your own inspiration collection. I plan to add more to it. A good chunk of it is currently money, and I've always been slightly obsessed with Guilloché patterns. Those are the highly intricate patterns you find very often on money or certificates as a hedge against counterfeiting. If you ever used a Spirograph, you get it. Some of these are not technically that, but just cool intricate patterns.
